When McCain talks about giving a $7,000 deduction for each child, and a $5,000 tax credit for insurance?

I take this as a way to give a break to the middle class that actually pay taxes, and not give anymore freebies to the the people who don't have to pay taxes. Is this what you get from this.

When McCain talks about giving a $7,000 deduction for each child, and a $5,000 tax credit for insurance?
yea! Its a way to give breaks to the workers in our country and not handouts to every drug addict, low life who just sits on there @ss getting handouts
Reply:O.k. . . . let's work the math . . . for a family with two children that's fourteen thousand dollars plus five thousand equals nineteen thousand . . . add in a few other deductions and you have an even twenty . . . so based on a tax rate of 25% only families making 80k or above would qualify for the full tax rate . . . the average family income hovers around 46K
Reply:I think it would effect those who don't pay taxes as well- Alot of single moms with kids or even married couples pay taxes through pay roll deductions all year but once they take their dependant deductions, earned income credit etc. they end up getting more than they paid in back. So basically they don't pay taxes- but I think the child deduction should be increased so I'm all for this. I also like the $5000.00 credit for insurance- Obama's plan to fine me if I don't have insurance is really scary!!

Edit: For those who think you have to make 80k to qualify- not correct! He said nothing about income qualifications- People use deductions even when they end up paying no taxes- he would be increasing these deductions!
Reply:This is the better plan and will put more money in people's pockets therefore they will have more to spend and spending is how we improve the economy. Good plan. Unlike Obama who wants to take our money away and give it to the lazy, drug addicted bums who ultimately reap the benefits of most government sponsored programs.

CharityG. Your math is a little off. 46K minus 19K equals 27K. I don't know where you got the idea that one needed to make 80K for the tax break, but maybe you should go back to school The $7000. comes off the top no matter what your income.
Reply:Sure it's cool, since we don't have enough national debt as it is.

Why not run this country MORE into the ground by giving LARGE amounts of money to people.

Sure, it sounds nice. But it will ruin our economy faster than you can say popsicle.
Reply:i feel very excited about this proposal. I think it's a great idea! I'm all for a bigger refund in february=)
Reply:Yes that will be a big help to working familes
Reply:heck, I live on less than $12000 a year
Reply:No.

Obama will be fiscally responsible which is what we need. McCain will continue on with deficit spending because he will have to. McCain is clueless and going to follow the Republican playbook. He thinks Reagan was a good President when he was not.
