How much child tax credit does a single non-working Mother receive, with 2 children?
every mother gets the full amount of child tax credit for her child, it doesnt matter whether you have a partner/work or not. You get around £56 for a child under the age of 1 and that goes down to around £46 for each child over the age of 1 until they either reach 16 and leave school or 19 and leave further education.
Reply:i work part-time and i get £60 a week for working and £75 for my two children , plus my wages ,and family allowance , but it depends if the father pays anything towards their children's upkeep , mine doesn't , but i do okay , you'd be better off getting a part-time job , you will benefit from it from a social point of view , and your kids will respect you more for it good luck
Reply:I have 3 children under 6 and i am a single mum not working as i am pregnant i receive £115 a week for my children. I have worked most of my adult life so i dont feel its wrong its there to help
Reply:Normally, its based on how much you made that year. As for non-working moms, Im not sure. You might want to try a free trial income tax filing program to estimate it.
Reply:check out www.entitledto.co.uk i found it be helpful working out child%26amp;working tax credits when i was due to give birth.

and dont pay any attention to all the people on here that have nothing better to do than insult you.

and before anybody starts having a go at me - i am married with a baby and a working husband and used to work myself (went part time when i was pregnant) so i pay taxes. each situation is different and it is about time the people on this forum stoppd abusing everbody on any form of benefits.
Reply:IT depends on where you live...you need to look at the government website for your area.
Reply:You need to be more specific - where do you live? Russia, Germany, Canada? Every place of residence is different, if you are in the US, what State do you live in?
Reply:Im not sure but to sunshine who said she should work, with 2 children and a single mother-not that easy especially when childcare costs are so expensive, i looked into working and for my son to in nursery i have to pay the 1st months fees upfront and then the tax credits give you up to 80% back depending on your earnings, if the government here in the UK sorted out childcare costs we would all go to work to give our kids a better start but with these fees we are no better off working, so may aswell spend our time giving our kids our time and attention, rather than work for about £20 more a week and be tired and not have time to see our kids.
Reply:around £59 a week i think
Reply:Its quite a bit but be warned they have a habit of wanting it back saying they have made a mistake. I have a current bill of £5000,00 that they want back because they say l didn't tell them me and my ex had split up then they said l did and l wasn't entitled to it anyway. My advice get a joband leave tax credit alone. l went back to work with 3 kids so you can do it.
Reply:it can be up to 500 depending how much you made
Reply:I had around £45 per week for my son, so double that I assume.
Reply:My friend got about £75 per week for her two kids!
Reply:Have a look on direct gov - there are calculators on there so it will ask you your details - your children's details and will then calculate roughly what your entitled to claim
Reply:Depends on how you filed your taxes, especially if you file jointly with a spouse. It is based on your annual income. I made over the limit last year so I only get $113 per month, but my income has gone down quite considerably and I am expecting $273/month next year.
Reply:for each child up to the age of 1 its just over £70 and any over 2 its £45 a week. we get child tax credits and have had them both when working and when not doesnt differ much either way as for an over 2 u get just over £39 for earning under £16,000. if your child is under 1 ull get £70 regardless of working or not. hope this helps
Reply:im in same situation not working as looking after my mother and divorced, i have four and i get approx £150 p/week. it varies depending on age of children.
Reply:Let's hope it's $0. We don't want to encourage this type of behavior and support it with taxpayer dollars.
Reply:Too bloody much
Reply:I didn't think you were entitled to any if you're not working, assuming you're in England, and neither should you be from a moral point of view. Get a job.

Angelcake.. Are you sure, i work and am single mum and always have been and i don't get any apart from child benefit (the details they've lost in the tax office!!)

Sexiebum....How is it that you have 3 children under 6 and are pregnant again and a single parent??? Not being funny, i'm assuming you're not stupid enough to keep getting pregnant without someone to support you, once is fair enough, twice is pretty daft, 3 times is bloody ridiculous and 4 times means a girl should have her legs tied together, so did he leave you while you were pregnant and is he the father of your other 3 or has something terrible happened to your husband to leave you bringing up 4 children on your own? If this is the case then i imagine it is quite difficult to work having 4 children.
Reply:NONE%26gt; You have to work to be credited. Or pay taxes on your income. That does not include welfare, child support, or disability.

I suggest getting a job. Each child would be worth at least 1,600 dollars if you work.
