Not voting would decrease your tax bill by $500. If this would not be enough incentive, is there an amount that would motivate you to stay home?
If there were a tax credit of $500 for not voting, would you vote in November? If not, how much of a credit?
Depends on whose running.
Reply:It's too important. Just think how the US has totally gone into the toilet since 2001 and it's all because of who won the election. And he won by one vote, 5-4.
Reply:lol, I would vote regardless.
If I didn't vote, then the $500 wouldn't be incentive enough. The reason why is because the Federal Reserve prints that money out of thin air, thus creating inflation which devalues the dollar. Basically, if someone has $50,000 in saving or whatever, then handing the individual a $500 tax credit would be no different than someone giving you $100, while in the process covertly taking $100 out of your wallet. Its nothing more than deception to make people not worry that the economy is collapsing. Its also a good way to force people to spend their own money they are saving.
Edit:
Oh, I skimmed your question. I was thinking $500 for voting, to get people out to vote.
Can't buy my vote.
Reply:hell yeah,
Reply:Nope - I can make money by working harder - voting is my only say in the way my country is run.
Reply:I would stay home for $10.
Why woud we want a tax incentive not to vote? Should we give tax incentives to vote instead? Do we want more or less participation in politics?
Tax incentives not to vote would destroy the democratic party. I would assume that more lower class voters would take the incentive since the money means more to them.
Who knows though. Maybe wealthier voters are more obsessed with money.
Reply:there is and even bigger than that, like 30% more of your income is involved If you Dont vote for Hillary or Osama
Reply:why would the government want less people voting? we need more people voting. even better would be if we could get people to look at the candidates policies before they vote instead of this popularity contest and mud slinging.
Reply:If Clinton steals the nom I'll stay home without burdening our tax sytem even further.
